If you've just tuned in to my weekly journal, I've tagged this year as my best year yet. And with that commitment comes the responsibility to shift things up a notch or ten.

Give yourself a score.
With 1 being the lowest score and 10 the highest score, how satisfied you are from your health to spirituality and everything between ?
If you're scoring a 7 or lower these may well be areas you choose to take action on this year.
Jot down alongside what it is you're already committed to doing and get specific. If you find an area that's light or empty it's not beat up time. One of my work buddies realised this week he didn't have a hobby. But he did know what it would be. It's up to each of us to decide how important any of these aspects from the whole of life list are.
What's next ?

- Affect - I have an emotional connection with commitment to change.
- Action - I have habits, rituals, and routines to support the change.
Let's bring this to life with something many of us can relate to - weight loss. Currently rated at a 6.5 out of 10. We commit to 3 goals - to look better in our clothes - to be leaner and toned - to be 55 kg when we jump on the scales in 12 weeks.
Then we go to the three A's - Attention, Affect, Action and check in. Not feeling it?
Maybe it's not important!
There's no point in beating ourselves up on our weight if prior to this we never gave it the attention to change. Now we've decided it's a totally different story!
I love the A'S.
When you've experienced that sinking feeling that you're not getting anywhere in an area of your life, check in. Have you been giving this thing the attention it deserves? Have you made the decision to be affected by change in your heart? Then with the appropriate action you make the space to bring this into your life.
When I did this activity that was such a light bulb moment, the same for my team mate when he realised he didn't have a hobby.
